During a working visit to Warsaw, Ukraine’s Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov met with Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.

The parties discussed the key needs of the Ukrainian military. Rustem Umerov thanked the Polish people and government for their comprehensive support, particularly highlighting the recently announced military aid package.

“Our closest neighbors were among the first to provide Ukraine with military support from the beginning of the full-scale invasion. Together, we are strengthening Europe's security. Defending the continent is our shared responsibility,” emphasized the Minister of Defense of Ukraine.

As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to:

  • Continue the supply of military aid through Polish territory;
  • Expand cooperation within the framework of the “Czech initiative”;
  • Develop projects in the defense-industrial complex, including the creation of joint enterprises in Ukraine or Poland;
  • Expand the training program for Ukrainian military personnel, under which Poland has already trained over 30,000 Ukrainian soldiers.

In the coming days, the Minister of Defense will hold a series of meetings with other European allies and friends of Ukraine. The main focus of the visits will be urgent supplies and long-term security projects.
