Ukraine’s industrial parks continue to drive the creation of new factories and production lines, with a notable development at the Korosten Industrial Park in Zhytomyr region. The park has launched the production of bio-glue made from peas, designed for the manufacture of eco-friendly wood panels used in construction and furniture. The total investment in the project amounts to 40 million euros.
This was reported by Dmytro Kysylevskyy, Deputy Chair of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Economic Development.
The launch of bio-glue production is a significant milestone for Ukraine’s agricultural sector. The new facility requires around 1 million tons of peas annually—more than double the expected domestic harvest for 2024. Korosten MDF Plant, the project’s investor, is already consulting with farmers in Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, and Dnipropetrovsk regions to expand cultivation areas and secure long-term supply contracts. These regions’ climates allow for two pea harvests per year.

The project also reflects Ukraine’s strategy to process raw materials domestically, rather than exporting them unprocessed, reinforcing the “Made in Ukraine” initiative and the development of industrial parks. To implement the project, the investor utilized a legal provision allowing equipment imports without VAT for industrial park participants. Last autumn, Korosten Industrial Park received co-financing of 83.5 million hryvnias from the state for the construction of an access road as part of national infrastructure development for industrial parks.
The new bio-glue and eco-panel plant is impressive in scale. Its planned production capacity is 3,000 tons of bio-glue per month, alongside 20,000 cubic meters of eco-panels. Simultaneously, Korosten MDF Plant is constructing a similar facility in the BF Terminal Industrial Park in Zakarpattia region. About 90% of the panels are intended for export. The products comply with EU Regulation 2023/1464, which from August 6, 2026, will tighten formaldehyde content limits in adhesives for MDF and HDF panel manufacturers.

Korosten Industrial Park covers 42.2 hectares and hosts a cluster of wood-processing enterprises, including Ukrainian Holding Sawing Company, Rezalt Eco, Korosten MDF Plant, BF Engineering, and BF Project. The launch of the bio-glue production highlights the growing role of industrial parks in fostering domestic manufacturing, sustainable production, and regional agricultural development.
