The Innovation and Defense Technology Development Center of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has demonstrated the capability to exchange comprehensive operational pictures between various NATO member countries and NATO-developed systems.

DELTA is a situational awareness platform created by the Innovation and Defense Technology Development Center of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in collaboration with the public organization Aerorozvidka. It gathers data from various sources including UAV reconnaissance, satellite imagery, radio interception, and NATO data.

The system enables real-time battlefield visualization, information sharing within units, brigades, and task forces, and, when needed, with allies. It integrates information about adversaries from aerial reconnaissance, satellites, UAVs, stationary cameras, radars, chatbots, and more.

Recently, three representatives from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine participated in NATO's Coalition Warfare Interoperability Exercise (CWIX). They showcased the Ukrainian Command and Control system named DELTA for its operational compatibility within NATO environments, as reported by the Alliance.

The system received high praise from NATO's Supreme Allied Commander Transformation, General Philip M. Breedlove, and Deputy Chief of Staff for Capability Development, Vice Admiral Jeffrey V. Hughes, during its presentation, as noted by Aerorozvidka.

Following Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, DELTA has significantly expanded its services to Ukrainian troops on the frontlines. New functionalities are continuously released based on feedback from the field.

Currently, DELTA's capabilities allow Ukrainian military personnel to access:

  • situational awareness;
  • streaming services for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and stationary cameras;
  • secured chat;
  • planning tools and synchronization matrix for reconnaissance and target acquisition assets;
  • integration of the robotic systems;
  • …and more is always in development!

During NATO CWIX24 exercises, the DELTA development team aimed to test compatibility with major integration standards to address any technical issues before additional Western armament support is provided to Ukraine. Over the first three years of Ukraine's participation in CWIX, they tested one interoperability standard in a focused area. The following year, they tested four standards, and in 2024, they tested 5 different standards used across 13 priority areas.
