Ukraine has begun forming a national team to develop action algorithms for monitoring a potential 30-day truce.
This was stated by Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha during a press conference.
According to Sybiha, immediately after returning from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the Ukrainian delegation reported to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the results of their meeting with the American side.
"We have already effectively started forming a national team that will develop the necessary action algorithms for properly monitoring a potential truce. This is an extremely complex process," he said.
The minister added that the frontline today stretches over 1,300 kilometers. Moreover, Ukraine has had a negative experience with the Minsk process, during which the Russian Federation violated the ceasefire 25 times. This makes it crucial to be prepared for potential provocations from the terrorist state.
"Therefore, everything will now be directed toward ensuring that the Ukrainian side is ready with the necessary teams, developments, and modalities. I mean, including a future vision for agreements or an action plan to achieve a just peace for Ukraine. Naturally, this also includes the parameters and scope of the security guarantee package for Ukraine," he added.
On March 11, a meeting between the U.S. and Ukrainian delegations took place in Saudi Arabia, where several agreements were reached. In particular, Washington proposed that Kyiv implement a 30-day ceasefire along the front line.
Additionally, on March 13, U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff visited Moscow to discuss the ceasefire with the enemy. After the talks, dictator Vladimir Putin stated that he "supports" the U.S. idea of a 30-day ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia but is concerned about "details."
