In a recent prisoner exchange, Ukraine has successfully repatriated servicemen from the Armed Forces, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Guard, and the State Border Guard Service.

According to the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the returnees include 149 soldiers from the Armed Forces, 4 from the Territorial Defense, 11 from the Navy, 8 National Guardsmen (including three from the Azov Regiment), and 3 border guards.

Among them, 31 defended Mariupol, including 18 from the Azovstal resistance. The exchange also secured the return of 74 defenders from Donetsk, 39 from Luhansk, 8 from Kharkiv, 5 from Kherson, and two each from Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Sumy regions, as well as those who fought in Kursk.

The group consists of 166 rank-and-file soldiers and sergeants, along with 9 officers. Additionally, 22 severely wounded soldiers—21 from the Armed Forces and one border guard—were repatriated outside the standard exchange process.

Many of the freed soldiers suffer from severe injuries and health complications. They will receive immediate medical care, rehabilitation, and reintegration support. The Ukrainian government will also provide one-time financial assistance and back payments for the entire duration of their captivity.

The Coordination Headquarters expressed gratitude to the United Arab Emirates for their assistance in facilitating this exchange.
