In Poland, a plan by Russian intelligence services for sabotage using disguised explosives was uncovered. According to Polish authorities, Russia intended to carry out a series of terrorist attacks on Polish territory, as well as in neighboring Lithuania and Germany, using drones and disguised explosive devices, as reported by Gazeta Wyborcza.
Sources close to the prosecutor’s office and the Internal Security Agency reported the results of the investigation concerning the arrested agent Vladislav G., who, according to the investigation, acted on orders from the GRU.
It is reported that he was tasked with burying specific objects at a local cemetery—canned goods disguised as ordinary corn—and leaving them at a designated location near Łódź.
According to sources, Russian military intelligence was preparing attacks using drones and the canned goods containing powerful explosives instead of corn.
The investigation also showed that similar operations were planned not only in Poland but likely in Lithuania and Germany as well. Similar “corn cans” were found in a cemetery in Lithuania.
Authorities believe the arrested individual also transported drone components and SIM cards between Lithuania, Poland, and Germany. If all suspicions are confirmed, Vladislav G. faces life imprisonment. The prosecutor’s office expects to complete the investigation by the end of the year.
