The Ministry of Defense of Lithuania plans to build a military training ground jointly with Latvia.
This was announced by the Minister of Defense of Lithuania, Laurynas KasÄiÅ«nas, reports LRT.
"I plan to talk to my Latvian colleague about the possible creation of a joint training ground. I plan to visit Latvia, so there will be an opportunity to discuss joint decisions in this direction. Of course, I understand that finding a place for a training ground in an election year is a difficult task. These things should have been dealt with earlier," he said.
He noted that the need for a new training ground is huge due to the increasing number of allies, with the arrival of Germans, "and we need to think about the possibility of training our forces."
"A new training ground is needed for maneuvering, which significantly simplifies it. In other words, it will not be a shooting range, but a maneuvering ground. This makes decisions easier," he emphasized.
