German drone manufacturer Quantum-Systems is donating 100 Trinity drones in various configurations to Ukraine.
This information was reported by Deaidua.
The transfer of the drones is part of a contract signed in September 2023 between the CEO of Quantum-Systems, Florian Seibel, and the Mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko.
The company has a close collaboration with Ukraine and, in addition to the 100 Trinity drones being gifted, also supplies hundreds of Vector UAVs on behalf of the German government.
In November 2023, representatives of the company announced that they would commence training Ukrainian drone operators in January 2024. These operators are expected to learn the basic capabilities of deploying and operating drones from the Trinity family.
As part of the training program, one of the three variants Ukraine will receive is the Trinity Pro, configured as a mapping drone with the capability of vertical takeoff and landing. The Trinity Pro has a maximum airborne time of 90 minutes, a flight range of 5-7.5 km, and a maximum takeoff weight of 5.75 kg.
Currently, it is unknown whether the Quantum-Systems drones will be used at the front lines or for other combat tasks. However, it should be noted that this decision primarily depends on the Kyiv City Council, which will be the recipient of these drones.
