German Chancellor Olaf Scholz called on economically developing countries to participate in the Global Peace Summit regarding Ukraine.

This was reported by Deutschlandfunk.

According to him, if countries like China, Brazil, and India call on Russia to withdraw its troops from Ukraine, the chances of a swift peace will increase.

"The more countries like China, Brazil, India, and many others say to Russia: 'Enough! This war must end, Russia must withdraw its troops!', the greater the chances of peace in the near future," said Scholz.

The Chancellor believes that developing countries should also intensify their diplomatic efforts to hold a peace conference planned in Switzerland in June.

"The fact that the Global South plays and should play an important role here is undoubtedly a reflection of the multipolar world. The more chances that diplomatic efforts, such as the peace conference planned by Switzerland, will bring us closer to a just peace," he said.

At the meeting near Lucerne, among other things, it will be discussed that nuclear weapons should not be used in the war against Ukraine and that there should be no attacks on nuclear power plants.
