The Ukrainian brewery MOVA from Dnipro won three awards at the European Beer Star 2025, the most prestigious brewing competition in Europe. The team received gold, silver, and bronze in three different categories, the company’s press service reported.
MOVA’s light Pilsner beer won the gold medal in the Bohemian-Style Pale Lager category. This victory is especially significant for the Ukrainian brewery, as Pilsner originates from the Czech Republic and is considered a true classic of world brewing.
The light HAZY IPA earned a silver award in the Hazy India Pale Ale category, one of the popular styles of modern craft beer.
Another light beer from MOVA – Lager – received the bronze medal in the International-Style Lager category, traditionally one of the most competitive segments among breweries worldwide.
“We are proud once again of the results our Ukrainian brewery has achieved at such a prestigious global competition. Our team is particularly pleased to receive bronze in the lager category, where competition is usually very tough. Lager is the most common beer style. Almost all breweries, especially large ones, brew lagers. So winning any prize in this category is extremely challenging,” said Bohdan Tochka, co-founder and head brewer of MOVA.
This is not MOVA’s first participation in the European Beer Star competition. In 2023, their non-alcoholic Dark Beer received gold in the New-Style Non-Alcoholic Lager category.
At this year’s European Beer Star, Ukraine was also represented by the brewery Beermaster, which won silver in the English-Style Strong Ale category.
