During the first month of the Ukrainian Armed Forces operation in the Kursk region, the Russian Federation lost approximately 6,000 soldiers killed and wounded.

This was reported by Volodymyr Zelensky during a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in the Ramstein format.

The President noted that today marks exactly one month since the start of the Ukrainian Defense Forces' operation in the Kursk region, from where Russian dictator Vladimir Putin was preparing to launch a new offensive against Sumy.

“We have changed the game. We are pushing the war into Russian territory thanks to our counteroffensive. Today we control an area of over 1,300 square kilometers in the Kursk region. This includes over a hundred populated areas,” he added.

According to Zelensky, the Russian military abandoned a significant portion of the territory upon seeing the approach of Ukrainian fighters, while other parts were taken under control by our forces in battles.

“As of now, during the first month of our operation, Russian troops have lost approximately 6,000 soldiers killed and wounded only in the Kursk region, as well as tens of thousands of Russian troops in other combat zones,” the President stated.
