Estonian Defence Minister Hanno Pevkur shared the outcomes of his visit to Kyiv, where he was on a two-day visit.
According to ERR, during the trip, discussions focused on the potential for developing defence cooperation and providing military assistance to Ukraine.
The minister was accompanied by representatives from over 30 Estonian defence industry companies.
The representatives of these companies had the opportunity to establish contacts with their Ukrainian counterparts, who represented nearly 90 local defence industry companies, and to familiarize themselves with each other’s products.
"The strong point of Estonian defence industry is undoubtedly everything related to unmanned aerial vehicles, technology, and intelligence. However, our companies should not limit themselves to these areas—they should seek opportunities to produce heavy weapons and ammunition. There is certainly much to learn from the Ukrainians," Pevkur emphasized.
He also noted that closer cooperation between the defence industries of the two countries contributes to strengthening the security of both Estonia and Ukraine.
