Over 50 participants joined an online conference focused on reconstruction, major repairs, and new construction of healthcare facilities under the joint Heal Ukraine project by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the World Bank.
The main goal of the event was to promote fair competition and attract as many contractors as possible to carry out construction and installation works following World Bank rules.
During the conference, they presented current procurement opportunities open for bidding on the Prozorro electronic system. These include the major renovation of the main building at Kozeltsy Intensive Care Hospital in Chernihiv region and the reconstruction of the surgical wing at the Central City Hospital in Rivne.
They also discussed upcoming tenders planned for 2025, such as the reconstruction of the Mykolaiv Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital and the construction of a new treatment and rehabilitation building with a children’s mental health center at the Volyn Regional Medical Association for Maternal and Child Protection. Other projects on the agenda included renovation works at the nationwide rehabilitation center “Tsybli” in Kyiv region, the rehabilitation center in Uzhhorod, and work at the “Lisova Polyana” Center for Mental Health and Rehabilitation in Kyiv city.
Funding for these projects will come from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB), all within the Heal Ukraine initiative.
Organizers answered participants’ questions and stressed their commitment to solving existing challenges, responding quickly to new ones, and preventing potential risks.
“We want not only to restore and modernize medical infrastructure but to do it with quality, transparency, and efficiency. We encourage national and international companies to actively participate in the tenders,” said representatives of the project implementation team.
As a reminder, the joint Heal Ukraine project aims to restore and improve access to essential medical services, address urgent and emerging healthcare needs, and provide financial protection in emergency situations.
