The Security Service of Ukraine has established that Russia intends to use "Wagner" mercenaries to involve Belarus in a full-scale war against Ukraine
The Security Service of Ukraine has obtained intelligence indicating that Russia is planning a large-scale provocation "under a false flag" at the strategic Belarusian facility, the Mozyr Oil Refinery. According to the gathered information, a sabotage and reconnaissance group consisting of Russian military personnel and employees of Russian special services, disguised as "Wagner" mercenaries, is responsible for preparing the act of terrorism on the refinery.
This Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group intends to stage a provocation at the refinery, pretending to be "Ukrainian saboteurs." Russia plans to blame Ukraine for this attack to further attempt to involve Belarus in a full-scale war against Ukraine.
The information about the planned attack in Belarus was obtained from several sources, including the testimonies of a Russian military serviceman captured by Ukrainian forces on the Zaporizhzhia front. Additionally, cyber experts from the SSU have restored and analyzed information on the captured Russian's mobile phone.
The analysis revealed the individual's previous involvement in hostilities against the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the southern region of Ukraine and his recent instructions to relocate to Belarus as a participant of the private military company "Wagner." During the relocation, the Russian serviceman received information about a "special mission" at the Mozyr Oil Refinery. The SBU's cyber experts also found deleted correspondence with other operatives, photos of the targeted facility, and specific information about the operation on the phone.
The Security Service of Ukraine warns Belarus against participating in a full-scale war against Ukraine. It assures that any aggressor crossing the border of Ukraine will be decisively countered by the Ukrainian Security and Defense Forces.
